Exciting news for Cult of the Lamb fans, plus a look at powerful new PC gaming handhelds. Welcome to today’s gaming update, your daily dose of news and happenings in the gaming world. I’m still processing last night’s nail-biting game between Philadelphia and Dallas. A player from Philadelphia was ejected early for allegedly spitting at the Dallas quarterback, but a different camera angle suggests the Dallas player initiated the spitting.

Reportedly, the Philadelphia player questioned whether he had just been spat at, the Dallas player denied it, and the Philadelphia player responded with his own spit. Is the Madden curse continuing? I’m worried last year’s champions will not perform well this upcoming season.

New Lenovo Handheld Packs a Punch, Pricey Though

Lenovo has unveiled their latest PC gaming handheld, boasting impressive specs, but the price is quite high. The base model retails for $1,100, comparable to a 15-inch MacBook Air. This gets you an 8.8-inch OLED screen, an AMD processor, 16GB of memory, and 1TB of storage. According to reports, SteamOS isn’t supported at launch, and Microsoft’s new Windows gaming interface, premiering with the Xbox ROG Ally, won’t be available until Spring 2026.

These factors somewhat dampen enthusiasm for what is otherwise a solid upgrade. This device is poised to rival the Switch 2, launching on October 31st, complete with detachable controllers, a kickstand, and optical mouse. The top-tier model nears $1,500, and it remains to be seen if the added features can justify that high cost.

Cult of the Lamb Expansion Approaching Base Game Length

The popular game blending roguelike action and base-building will receive a major expansion in early 2026. The developers at Massive Monster claim the expansion will feel like almost a separate game. This winter-themed DLC introduces new base management, additional levels, and harsh weather to contend with. While visually appealing, unlike past updates, this DLC will be a paid addition, though pricing remains undisclosed.

As the developers said on social media, “We go big with content, and this DLC is no exception. It will not be free, but trust us, you will love it.”

Schedule 1 Players Vote on Game Updates

The latest update for the drug-selling game is live and the newest poll is available for players. The game features crew rivalries. The options this time include Hireable Drivers, Fishing, and introducing hallucinogenic shrooms into the game. While hiring drivers might be useful, the fans of shrooms have spoken. Some are chanting, “Shrooms, baby!” Others suggest, “Fishing EZ.” Some just want police raids.

MindsEye Developers Address Player Complaints

A player posted, “I can’t wait for the next statement from the studio.” But Build A Rocket Boy has released update 4. This update includes changes to the shooter game. PC performance has improved and there are quality-of-life improvements, including the ability to skip cutscenes. But players are not all happy with the improvements.

One player stated, “I’ve deleted it for now.” Another wrote, “Maybe by 2040 the game will reach 1.0.” The most controversial part of the new update is the removal of vehicles, “Removed EVERYWHERE vehicles from Build.MindsEye,” stated the developer, “those vehicles were made accessible unofficially, and we will bring them to MindsEye when they are ready.” A user wrote, “You guys really thought this was the time to make that change.”

Nintendo Console Repairs Ending

Nintendo has run out of replacement parts for the New 2DS XL. A statement on X, according to X’s translation features, says that repair service for the New Nintendo 2DS XL ended on September 4, 2025 due to low part supplies. Repair services have stopped for all Nintendo 3DS systems, too.

Nintendo stopped Wii U repairs last year. The eShops for both platforms are down and with online functionality unavailable, Nintendo’s era before the Switch has finally ended.
