Film enthusiasts rejoice! The definitive Alfred Hitchcock film anthology, The Ultimate Collection, is arriving on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. Fans have enjoyed the 15-film compilation on standard Blu-ray since 2012. However, previous 4K releases focused on smaller selections. That all changes on October 14. This is when The Ultimate Collection makes its 4K Blu-ray debut. This comprehensive set is priced at $125. This 15-disc treasure trove includes a wealth of bonus content spanning over nine hours. There’s also a beautifully crafted collectible booklet. Digital codes are included, so you can experience each film on the go.
Universal Pictures is also bringing back the 1080p Blu-ray version. This marks its first reissue since 2017. Like its 4K counterpart, the Blu-ray edition offers digital copies and mirrors the special features and packaging. If you’re ready to dive in, pre-orders for the 2025 Blu-ray version of The Ultimate Collection are now open. You can secure your copy for $88 at Walmart or $101 at Amazon.
How does The Ultimate Collection compare to the already available Hitchcock Classics Collections on 4K Blu-ray? For your convenience, we’ve compiled a dedicated Amazon resource highlighting notable Hitchcock box sets and 4K Blu-rays in one convenient location. If the standard Blu-ray edition of The Ultimate Collection appeals to you, it’s time to consider your choices. Since it’s based on 4K restorations, expect improved video and audio for the upcoming release. It also has a voucher for digital versions.
On the flip side, the 2017 edition comes with 15 hours of bonus features, 7 episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and 3 episodes of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. The collectible booklet also seems very similar or identical. Note that this version has Blu-ray discs only; there’s no digital copy. There’s a significant price difference as well. You can find the 2017 edition on Amazon for only $56.63 (previously $100).

The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collections (4K Blu-ray + Blu-ray)
While The Ultimate Collection gathers many gems, the individual 4K Blu-ray discs exist within the three Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collections below. Purchasing these collections grants access to almost all of the films featured in The Ultimate Collection, apart from North by Northwest. Typically, each Classics Collection sells for $70. However, Amazon has two of these collections on limited-time deals for around $30.
The digital codes within these collections may be expired. Despite this, it is worth noting that the Classics Collection box sets include both 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray discs. If you choose this option, you’ll miss out on the collector’s booklet offered with The Ultimate Collection.
Alfred Hitchcock: The Iconic Film Collection – Limited Edition

Although North by Northwest isn’t in the Classics Collection, it’s included in last year’s Alfred Hitchcock: The Iconic Film Collection. This 4K Blu-ray and digital box set has a limited run of 5,150 copies. It showcases a striking book-style case, which is packed with storyboards, sketches, previously unseen photos, and fresh artwork. Boasting 15 hours of bonus content, The Iconic Collection has more extras than the upcoming 15-film Ultimate Collection. To Catch a Thief is the only original entry; five of the set’s six films also appear in the upcoming box set.
