It seems like only yesterday that Blizzard Entertainment unveiled their vision for the future of World of Warcraft at BlizzCon 2023. During the event, Chris Metzen presented the grand “Worldsoul Saga” for World of Warcraft, which will unfold over three exciting expansions: The War Within, Midnight, and The Last Titan.

Now, nearly two years have passed, and The War Within is drawing to a close as we eagerly anticipate the arrival of World of Warcraft: Midnight, which will bring the long-awaited introduction of player housing to the game.

The Midnight expansion will lead players back to Quel’Thalas, a zone that first appeared in the memorable Burning Crusade expansion. The story will pick up where it left off after the conclusion of The War Within. Blizzard has skillfully established Xal’atath as a credible and persistent villain, and, importantly, she isn’t a temporary antagonist.

For long-time Warcraft fans, the allure of Midnight is the opportunity to revisit some of the most iconic locations in the game’s history. Oh, and I suppose player housing is a welcome addition as well.

Recently, Blizzard shared an in-depth look at the upcoming Midnight expansion. While some details were a rehash of what was announced at BlizzCon, players also gained fresh insights into the upcoming player housing feature.

World of Warcraft Player Housing Arriving This December for Midnight Purchasers

Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that players who pre-purchase the Midnight expansion for World of Warcraft will gain access to player housing starting this December, well before the potential February 26th, 2026 launch date.

While early access to housing was already known to be a pre-order bonus, we now have a timeframe for its arrival. Blizzard also announced that housing customization items can be unlocked by completing different activities within the game, including past content.

If you’ve been diligently completing old raids, dungeons, and other legacy content, you may find some decoration options are already available for you!

The Blizzard shop offers three distinct versions of the Midnight expansion for pre-order.
