The iconic Battlefield series from EA is gearing up for a new installment. A cornerstone of the multiplayer shooter scene since its debut in 2002, Battlefield has consistently rivaled franchises like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, and Delta Force for gaming supremacy.
While whispers of a new Battlefield game, potentially titled “Battlefield 6,” have circulated for some time, along with closed beta tests, recent updates indicate that an open beta period is expected to arrive soon, giving players an early taste of the action.

Battlefield Labs Leak Allegedly Shows Every Battlefield 6 Gadget
Expect familiar gadgets from BF2042 to be present.
In a recent post on the official Battlefield X account, a link was shared that reveals a new trailer is coming on July 24th.
While concrete details are limited for now, the official artwork accompanying the trailer announcement suggests the game will feature contemporary or near-future weapons, and at least partially unfold on American soil.
A Shift in Focus?
With the trailer debut a few days away, speculation is rife regarding the content in the next Battlefield game. The short, ten-second clip featured on X prominently displays the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City being demolished, with Manhattan’s skyline in the backdrop.
The scene, complete with warships entering the Hudson River and fighter jets soaring overhead, evokes memories of the “Battle of New York” level from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The soldiers depicted in the foreground appear equipped with realistic, modern weaponry, contrasting the more futuristic aesthetic seen in Battlefield 2042.
Previously, leaks from Battlefield Labs indicated a campaign mission centered around players sabotaging a dam located in Tajikistan.
Following the widespread criticism leveled at 2042, a return to the series’ roots seems logical. Fans have always valued intense, fast-paced modern combat experiences that remain tactically engaging but accessible to newcomers.
Currently, the release timeframe for this new Battlefield remains unconfirmed, but more details are expected on July 24th when the trailer is released. Fan reactions are mixed with excitement and worry can be seen within the trailer’s comment section. One user wrote: “Dice, please! Bring this legendary series back to the top!” while another stated, “Please don’t disappoint us again!”.
The four years separating this new Battlefield release from its predecessor, Battlefield 2042, marks the longest gap in the franchise’s history. This could suggest that DICE is aiming for major changes to rebuild its standing within the gaming community.
