Greenidge Generation, a firm specializing in cryptocurrency data centers, has finalized the transfer of ownership for its Bitcoin mining operation situated in Mississippi.
The transaction reached completion on September 16th, with US Digital Mining Mississippi LLC acquiring the facility for a sum of $3.9 million.
Last month, Greenidge’s plan to divest a 152-acre data center location in Spartanburg, South Carolina, collapsed when Data Journey, the intended buyer, withdrew from the agreement.
Greenidge initially acquired the South Carolina land in 2021, spending $15 million. Later, in 2023, they sold off 23 acres and associated 44MW crypto-mining infrastructure to NYDIG in a deal worth $28 million.
Parallel to that transaction, Greenidge also divested another Mississippi site with a 7.5MW capacity, while concurrently securing a separate 37-acre parcel in Mississippi with anticipated ‘low-cost’ power generation of 44MW by July 2026.
Currently, Greenidge’s official website identifies four active mining locations across the states of New York, South Carolina, North Dakota, and Mississippi.
