To Hideo Kojima: We’re eagerly awaiting substantial news regarding Physint, your upcoming project blending the excitement of Metal Gear with a cinematic experience. The anticipation is building, and with each passing moment, more potential (and possibly groan-worthy) puns come to mind.

Currently, my interest in Physint is moderate; it feels somewhat undefined. Perhaps a detailed overview from Kojima Productions would spark greater enthusiasm and reveal the project’s underlying complexities. However, Kojima, known for his enigmatic style, keeps details close to his chest. Still, we now know that the production includes Don Lee (of Train To Busan fame), Charlee Fraser from Furiosa, and Minami Hamabe, recognized for her role in Godzilla Minus One.

During a recent live broadcast, Kojima discussed his collaboration with 3Lateral to create realistic facial models of the actors. He showed early in-engine renders of Hamabe. The result looks photorealistic.

Kojima also presented concept artwork for Physint, hinting at clear parallels with the Metal Gear universe. The image features a figure in a coat with a raised collar. The design blurs the lines between coat and tactical gear, complete with an intricate harness around the right shoulder. This will likely be essential gear.

Key art for Physint displays a shadowy character in a flowing coat and tactical gear, holding a firearm, with a cityscape visible. The tagline reads: Here comes the feeling.

The artwork also features a scoped rifle with a silencer, suggesting a blend of stealth and direct combat. Towering buildings form the backdrop, and slate-colored clouds can be seen.

Could the sadness described above be “the Feeling” in the tagline, “Here Comes the Feeling?” Probably not. As Kojima mentioned in May, the game is still at least five or six years away.

Physint is now “in development”, following the release of Death Stranding 2 on console. A central theme is mortality, influenced by Kojima’s personal health experiences. Hopefully, future updates will delve deeper into these elements and showcase the project’s unique tactical aspects. We’re ready for more information about Physint!
