Even if you weren’t deeply invested in the original Skate trilogy, it’s readily apparent that this new iteration of the game takes a slightly different path.
For starters, it seems to miss some of the core nuances of skateboarding culture, and many of the intricate and well-loved mechanics from the original Skate games have been removed. Perhaps most glaringly, the game requires a constant internet connection to even play, a design choice that many find questionable.
This always-online requirement creates several problems, potentially isolating players who prefer solitary gaming experiences. However, one of the most frustrating issues is that players are already finding ways to disrupt the enjoyment of others in the game.
Some users are occupying popular locations within San Van, strategically placing their own quick drop ramps and other items to interfere with others attempting to use their favorite skate spots.
Fortunately, there’s a solution to this issue, allowing players to effectively block the disruptive actions of others and remove their quick drop items from view.
How To Get Rid of Other Players’ Ramps
The process is surprisingly straightforward, although it may not be immediately obvious where to find the relevant setting.
Simply press the left button on the directional pad (D-Pad). This will bring up the social menu.
Next, navigate to the social and Spectate settings tab.
Within this menu, located at the very top, you’ll find a setting labeled ‘Quick Drop Visibility’. Change this setting from ‘Everyone’ to ‘Only Me’ or ‘Co-op’ if you usually play with a group.
After making this change, you will only be able to see and interact with your own quick drop creations.
It is also advisable to adjust your Quick Drop Editing settings in the same way to prevent unwanted modifications to your items by other players.
This setting reverts to its default state each time you log in. Therefore, if this is a significant annoyance, it’s recommended to change the setting at the start of each play session.
