Alongside the launch of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, PlayStation 5 gamers looking to dive into the series from the beginning can now experience the original Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice as a fully optimized, native PS5 title.
Great news for those who purchased the game on PS4! If you owned it before Ninja Theory joined Microsoft back in 2018, a complimentary upgrade to the PS5 version is available starting today.
First Hellblade Game Gets Native PS5 Version
The native PS5 version is now accessible if you have previously acquired the game on PS4 or intend to purchase it for the PS5. Visit the PlayStation Store listing for access. The PS5 edition boasts improved graphics and exciting enhancements beyond the already visually impressive PS4 version.
Gamers can anticipate ray tracing capabilities, frame rates reaching up to 120fps, DualSense controller haptic feedback integration, plus numerous visual upgrades.
For those unfamiliar, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice comes from Ninja Theory, known for titles such as Heavenly Sword (PS3 exclusive), and DmC: Devil May Cry, among others.
Launched in 2017, DualShockers’ review highlighted the powerful storytelling and emotional depth of Senua’s Sacrifice. Keep in mind, though, that the gameplay may show its age compared to more modern titles.
Once you have finished Senua’s Sacrifice, you can then proceed to experience Senua’s Saga, the sequel which was formerly exclusive to Xbox, and is now available on PlayStation 5.
It’s more than simply a port, incorporating upgrades and improvements. We advise reading our in-depth review of Hellblade 2 to better comprehend the changes implemented.
