Just days after the introductory video for the upcoming expansion to The Sims 4, titled Adventure Awaits, Electronic Arts is providing a first glimpse at actual gameplay. This is a common strategy for The Sims releases; a brief preview is released about a week prior to showcasing the gameplay itself.

Scheduled for release on October 2nd, “Adventure Awaits” continues a trend where community predictions regarding the expansion’s themes prove remarkably accurate. As seen in the initial preview, the core concept revolves around venturing beyond your Sim’s usual surroundings for diverse vacation experiences.
The new “Getaway” system allows you to visit sun-drenched beach destinations, go camping deep within forests, design a fitness-focused retreat, or even establish a reality TV show competition with challenges reminiscent of Survivor.
“Adventure Awaits” empowers players to create custom venues which can be shared, with Camp Gibbi Gibbi and Love Highland serving as the inspiration for these creative builds.
