Get ready for the impending arrival of “Adventure Awaits,” the next exciting expansion pack for The Sims 4! To tide you over until its release next month, Maxis has launched a fantastic new update. This patch is currently available for PC gamers and will be accessible to console players starting September 23rd.
This update brings several noteworthy features, seemingly designed to prepare players for the upcoming expansion and its central theme.
A key addition in the latest game enhancement is the introduction of Playground Venues. These dedicated spaces allow Sim children to socialize and engage in playful activities, providing a hub for kids to meet new friends.
Players can design their own custom Playground Venues and share them within the community. Additionally, the Event Planning interface has been revamped with new filtering options. You can now efficiently locate specific venue types (such as libraries or nightclubs) when organizing events.
Another significant feature aimed at younger Sims is the “Play Pretend” interaction, which allows children to engage in imaginative role-playing, either solo or with other child Sims. You can find this new option within the Friendly > Activities Pie Menu. Several classic themes are available, including Fairy Tale Castle, House, and Pirate Adventure. As expected from The Sims, each theme boasts unique visual effects.
Furthermore, the update includes a fresh color variation for the Ecru Slouch Beanie within the Create a Sim mode. Maxis has also adjusted the gains associated with Soul’s Journey and has implemented Satisfaction Point rewards for completing each tier.
The console release of the update next week will coincide with the launch of an optional beta feature named “Memory Boost.” This feature aims to improve overall game performance by optimizing memory usage. It can be found in the Game Options menu, under the “Other” tab.
While “Adventure Awaits” won’t be available until October 2nd, this update’s early release provides mod creators with ample time to update their creations and ensure compatibility with the upcoming expansion.
Additionally, EA has launched a series of promotional materials for Gibbi Point, the exciting new destination featured in “Adventure Awaits.” These materials showcase potential vacation experiences and encourage players to revisit the site for ongoing inspiration.
