It’s been a while since Capcom released a brand-new Mega Man title; Mega Man 11 launched back in 2018, but the Blue Bomber is far from forgotten. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Mega Man Star Force series in 2026, Capcom is preparing a special release: the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, featuring all seven games!
Originally launched in 2006, Mega Man Star Force emerged as a successor to the Mega Man Battle Network games. This series introduced players to Geo Stelar, a young protagonist who transforms into a new Mega Man after bonding with Omega-Xis, an alien being. These events take place two centuries following the last Battle Network installment. Players followed their adventure across seven action-RPG titles, culminating with Mega Man Star Force 3: Red Joker in 2008.
Here’s a list of the seven Star Force games included in the Legacy Collection:
- Mega Man Star Force Pegasus
- Mega Man Star Force Leo
- Mega Man Star Force Dragon
- Mega Man Star Force 2 Zerker x Ninja
- Mega Man Star Force 2 Zerker x Saurian
- Mega Man Star Force 3 Black Ace
- Mega Man Star Force 3 Red Joker
Considering that these titles were originally made for the Nintendo DS, the Legacy Collection offers a unique dual-screen display, fitting both screens onto a single TV screen. Furthermore, the collection brings an “enhanced experience,” enabling players to exchange cards and engage in online battles.
While Capcom hasn’t announced an exact release date, the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is expected to launch sometime in 2026. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Earlier this year, Capcom emphasized that Mega Man continues to be a key franchise for them. While there’s no news about a new mainline game in the works at the moment, fans can look forward to the original Mega Man animated series releasing on Blu-ray on October 28.
