Get ready for some awesome freebies! Starting Tuesday, July 22nd, the second annual Summer Road Trip collaboration between Fortnite and Rocket League is bringing players a chance to snag a unique in-game outfit, a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 vehicle design, and a Red Hot Chili Peppers music track. By participating in both Fortnite and Rocket League, you can unlock the Corvette and matching wheels. To secure all the available rewards, you’ll need to dive into both game universes. The event wraps up on August 4th in Rocket League and August 7th in Fortnite.

You’ll be able to earn the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 for free during the Summer Road Trip event.

Over in Fortnite, players will receive a fresh daily quest to gain experience points while teaming up in specific game modes. These quests will rotate daily between Epic-created modes like Battle Royale and Reload, and community-designed experiences. Completing each quest unlocks a new reward, starting with “The Zephyr Song” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers after one quest is done, and culminating in the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 car body after successfully completing eight quests. While most rewards are cosmetic fillers such as sprays and emotes, you can also score an excellent wrap and a fun rubber ducky pickaxe.

Meanwhile, in Rocket League, the event is structured in two parts. The majority of quests and rewards become available right at the start, while the final quest to unlock the Corvette goes live on July 28th. However, the initial batch of quests also features some Fortnite-exclusive bonuses. By making 15 saves during the Summer Road Trip, you can unlock the Hairpin outfit in Fortnite, and playing a private match with modified game settings will grant you a glider resembling a Rocket League ball – neither of which can be obtained within Fortnite itself.

Compared to last year, this year’s Summer Road Trip offers a few more goodies and notably less controversy. Last year’s event featured the divisive Tesla Cybertruck as the grand prize and offered the free “Holiday” jam track by Green Day. A key difference this time is the inclusion of Rocket League-exclusive rewards that are only usable in Fortnite – specifically, the glider and the Hairpin skin.

Almost all rewards from this year’s Summer Road Trip, with one exception, may become available for purchase in the in-game store after the event concludes. It’s likely that the music track and the car will be offered relatively soon – the Cybertruck appeared in the store immediately after last August’s event ended. The only guaranteed exclusive item is the ZR1 Circuit decal for the Corvette.

Beyond the Summer Road Trip, Fortnite has other exciting cosmetic news this week. This Friday will see the arrival of the Fantastic Four in the item shop, both as character outfits and in the form of themed sneakers.
