Deceptive advertisements surfaced within Monad’s official Telegram channel, just prior to their anticipated token distribution.

Co-founder Keone Hon shared an alert via X to inform the community. He urged users to avoid clicking on any ads displayed in the channel, as it typically features only official announcements from Monad.

This warning is issued ahead of Monad’s planned airdrop launch, scheduled for 1:00 PM UTC on October 14.

Hon also expressed his concerns about Telegram’s policy of allowing sponsored content to be displayed even in strictly managed channels. He commented, “It’s astonishing that Telegram inserts content directly into a channel exclusively intended for content from a single source.”

Hon reminded everyone that there’s no reason to hurry, as the claim period will remain open for a full three weeks. He stated:

Avoid acting impulsively, and always double-check everything before taking any action.

According to Telegram’s platform regulations, the advertisements violated guidelines related to deceptive information, unauthorized software, and fraudulent financial services. Telegram’s rules also prohibit any advertising involving phishing attempts or attempts to deceive users into revealing private details.

In related news, Monad’s yet-to-be-released token, MON, has already commenced trading on Hyperliquid’s futures exchange. It’s currently being traded at approximately $0.07, indicating a total token valuation of roughly $7 billion, based on its total supply of 100 billion tokens.
