While the developers at GSC Game World are dedicated to enhancing
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl
with ongoing post-launch support, their plans extend far beyond simple
fixes and improvements.
Word is that GSC Game World is already working on two expansion packs for
the game. However, it sounds like fans will have to wait a while before
they’re released.
Although the studio hasn’t made any official announcements, the existence of
these expansions is confirmed by a developer, making this more than just
speculation.
STALKER 2 Has Two DLCs In Development
Yevhenii Kulyk, Technical Producer at GSC Game World, mentioned the DLCs in
an interview with Danish media outlet
Arkaden.
According to Kulyk (as reported by
Zelenobot), “It’s safe to say that we plan to release DLC for STALKER 2, just like
we did with the original trilogy. The base game and then two DLCs. It’s
actually included in the Ultimate Edition of the game. If you buy it, you
get the DLCS, which are focused on being story-driven. I think we’ll be
ready to share something new about that in the near future, the two DLCs are
already in development.”
Beyond that, details are scarce. We don’t know exactly when these DLCs will
be available. Perhaps GSC Game World will provide more information before
the end of the year.
In other news for the game, GSC Game World
revealed that the PS5 version will be launching this November, and it will include enhancements specifically for the PS5 Pro.
The developers are not only working on that version, but they also
unveiled plans for new features
as part of an updated development roadmap.
While
STALKER 2 didn’t initially impress all shooter fans due to technical
problems
upon its initial release, it has received significant updates that address
many of those issues.
