Strategy Acquires $370 Million in Bitcoin Last Week

Strategy (NASDAQ: $MSTR) has purchased $370 million U.S. worth of Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC) in the past week.

This marks the company’s first Bitcoin acquisition in two months, bringing in 4,603 Bitcoins at a total expense of $369.7 million U.S. The average purchase price was $80,318 U.S. per Bitcoin.

The funding for this recent Bitcoin buy came from the sale of $602.80 million U.S. of common stock.

The remainder of the proceeds from the stock sale was allocated to $151.8 million U.S. for repurchases of the company’s preferred stock (NASDAQ: $STRC) and to enhance cash reserves.

Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings now stand at 845,050, which were purchased for approximately $63.73 billion U.S.

Under the leadership of Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, the company acquired its Bitcoin at an average price of $75,412 U.S. each.

As of August 31, Bitcoin is trading at $77,800 U.S. The leading cryptocurrency by market capitalization has seen a 24% increase in August, marking its strongest monthly performance since November 2024.

Over the past year, MSTR stock has dropped 63%, currently priced at $127.31 U.S. per share.
