The Singapore Exchange is set to offer US institutional investors access to Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures as soon as next month.

According to reports from BlockBeats and others on September 10, SGX has recently obtained the necessary approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for allowing trading of Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures for US institutional clients.

Officials at SGX stated that this initiative aims to bridge US financial institutions with Asia’s liquidity resources. They added that this approval signifies a stronger integration of cryptocurrency derivatives within the regulated financial sector.

SGX first introduced perpetual futures for Bitcoin and Ether in November 2025, and since then, the cumulative trading volume has reached approximately 400,000 contracts by August.

Typically, onboarding accounts for US entities and aligning trading systems takes between two to four weeks. SGX anticipates rolling out these services to US institutional investors within the next month or two.

Additionally, SGX has plans to initiate dated futures and options for Bitcoin and Ether, with a gradual expansion to include other prominent cryptocurrencies.
