In its latest report, Bank of America (BofA) has unveiled noteworthy positions in Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana through ETFs. The prominent financial institution also highlighted substantial holdings in companies like Strategy (MSTR), American Bitcoin Corp (ABTC), and other crypto-related stocks.

Bank of America Allocates Nearly $53 Million in Cryptocurrency ETFs including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana

In its recent Form 13F filing for Q1 2026 with the SEC, Bank of America disclosed its holdings in Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana ETFs totaling nearly $53 million.

The bank has its largest investment in the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF (IBIT), valued at $37 million, holding 972,590 IBIT shares, a rise from 719,008 shares previously.

Additionally, BofA has $7.98 million invested in Bitwise’s BITB, $3.32 million in the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini ETF, and $1.71 million in FBTC. The bank also has stakes in GBTC, VanEck’s HODL, and Ark 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB).

On the other hand, Bank of America (BofA) has reduced its Ethereum holdings, akin to the actions of Goldman Sachs, which reduced its Ethereum ETF holdings by approximately 70%. Currently, BofA holds 67,492 shares valued at $1.06 million in the BlackRock Ethereum ETF (ETHA).

In contrast, Bank of America has maintained its XRP ETF holdings from the previous quarter. According to reports from CoinGape, Bank of America (BofA) retained 13,000 shares in the Volatility Shares XRP ETF.

Conversely, the bank has divested 700 Volatility Shares in the 2x Solana ETF while maintaining 10,296 shares in the standard Volatility Shares Solana ETF within its portfolio.

While the bank’s exposure to cryptocurrencies is relatively small compared to its total investment portfolio of $1.37 trillion, it showcases a persistent institutional interest in digital assets despite the ongoing challenges within the crypto market.

These holdings reflect a trend among financial institutions, as many are increasing their investments in spot crypto products. A majority favor Bitcoin and Ethereum while exploring altcoin ETFs like XRP and Solana amidst improving regulatory clarity.

Holdings in Strategy (MSTR), ABTC, and BMNR Stocks

Bank of America (BofA) has also disclosed it holds 3.96 million shares of MSTR, valued at roughly $660 million. The bank’s portfolio includes $19 million in Strike (STRK) perpetual preferred shares and convertible senior notes.

The Wall Street institution possesses 85,508 shares of American Bitcoin Corp (ABTC), 903,346 shares of Bitmine Immersion (BMNR), and 238,082 shares of Hyperliquid Strategies Inc (PURR). Despite substantial institutional investments, Trump-backed American Bitcoin shares are underperforming.

Additionally, the bank has invested in companies such as Circle, Coinbase, and Bitcoin mining entities including MARA Holdings, Riot Platforms, and CleanSpark.
