Bitmine Buys Additional $68 Million Worth of Ethereum

Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: $BMNR) has acquired an extra 27,180 Ethereum (CRYPTO: $ETH) in the last week.

This recent acquisition brings the company closer to its target of owning 5% of the total circulating Ethereum supply.

Bitmine invested $68 million in Ethereum over the past week, purchasing the cryptocurrency at an average price exceeding $2,500.

More From Cryptoprowl:

Currently, Bitmine holds 5,956,378 ETH, while the overall circulating supply is around 122 million tokens globally.

To achieve its 5% ownership goal and reach 6.1 million tokens, the company must acquire an additional 144,000 Ethereum.

The firm, led by Chairman Tom Lee, has consistently added to its Ethereum holdings each week since initiating its crypto treasury strategy in June 2025.

On social media, Lee mentioned that Ethereum is showing stronger performance relative to Bitcoin, indicating a potential bullish sentiment for the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.

Lee also highlighted that a U.S. Senate vote on the Clarity Act regarding crypto market structure, set for Sept. 15, could serve as a positive catalyst for Ethereum and other digital currencies.

As of Sept. 14, ETH is priced at $2,504.70.
