Donald Trump has found a new source of wealth, heavily driven by cryptocurrency. According to an estimate from Forbes, the former president’s fortune stands at $6.5 billion as of March 2026, with digital currencies being the largest contributor. His crypto investments and liquid assets sum up to approximately $2.1 billion, as highlighted by Forbes.

This marks a significant shift for a personality who once dismissed cryptocurrency as a deceptive scheme. Forbes notes that both cryptocurrency and real estate are primary factors enhancing his wealth. boosting his net worth.

Bitcoin Holdings Overview

Trump’s investment in Bitcoin comes through various streams. His federal disclosure for 2025, available on June 30, 2026, shows two entries for Bitcoin cold wallets, each valued at over $50 million.

Additionally, Trump possesses about 41.5% of Trump Media & Technology Group, which has transitioned into a Bitcoin treasury business. As of mid-August, the company held around 12,000 BTC, valued at roughly $758 million.

Hypothetical Bitcoin Conversion

What would happen if Trump were to convert his entire wealth, estimated by Forbes, into Bitcoin? At a current value of around $79,000 per Bitcoin, a fortune of $6.5 billion could yield about 82,000 BTC.

This amount represents nearly 0.4% of all Bitcoins in circulation, roughly six times the quantity he holds through Trump Media, and significantly more than the 8,300+ BTC owned by American Bitcoin, which his son Eric Trump co-founded.

However, this scenario is theoretical. Forbes points out that only about $1.1 billion of Trump’s assets are accessible in cash, with the remainder tied up in real estate ventures, golf courses, and equities.

The $6.5 billion figure is an estimate by Forbes and not an official asset statement, with a large portion of it invested in fluctuating assets. His World Liberty Financial tokens are currently trading around $0.057, reflecting an approximate 80% decline from their peak value.
